OUR HISTORY

Jinan Shizhong · 37 Years of Milestones

For 37 years, one mission — measure every industrial flow with precision. From a single laboratory to a benchmark of China's differential-pressure flow instrumentation, Shizhong measures time with craftsmanship and records growth with precision.

  1. 1989

    Founding

    Founded the Jinan Shizhong Automation Instrument Research Institute. Starting from throttling devices and flowmeters, we served metallurgy, chemical, heating, pharmaceutical and paper industries, planting technical roots in Jinan that would grow for over three decades.

  2. 2006

    Breakthrough

    The anti-clogging Lierba flowmeter was finalized. Its unique "anti-clogging, maintenance-free, hot-tap" structure solved the gas-dust clogging problem, earning a core structural patent and becoming our flagship product.

  3. 2012

    Transformation

    The research institute was restructured into Jinan Shizhong Automation Instruments Co., Ltd. — from a research unit to a modern manufacturer integrating R&D, production, sales and after-sales.

  4. 2016

    Systemization

    Passed ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, establishing standardized quality control, completing full-category production lines, and achieving turnkey supply capability.

  5. 2019

    Certification

    Obtained the Special Equipment Production License for pressure-pipeline component manufacturing (component combination assemblies), with design, machining, quality control and inspection fully meeting national statutory standards — opening the door to petrochemical, coal chemical and metallurgical high-temperature, high-pressure projects.

  6. 2020

    Elevation

    Recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise. With an independent patent portfolio, we tackled high-temperature, high-dust and corrosive media, benchmarking against imported instruments to build independent flow measurement solutions.

  7. 2022

    Standard-setting

    As a flowmeter-housing manufacturer, Shizhong was also one of the drafting organizations of the T/CASEI 012—2022 group standard, Specification for Supervision Inspection of Flowmeter Housings for Pressure Equipment.

  8. 2023

    Innovation

    Launched the SmartBalance ProValve® valve-controlled flowmeter, integrating measurement, prepayment and valve control in one device, with a national invention patent applied.

  9. 2024

    Accumulation

    Patents and innovations surpassed 40, recognized as a National Sci-Tech SME, advancing toward a benchmark of China's throttling-type flow instruments.

  10. 2025

    Breakthrough

    After three years of testing, launched the adaptive wide-range flowmeter. Calibration testing by the National Steam Flow Measurement Station (Yantai) recorded accuracy class 0.5 and a 100:1 turndown ratio under the documented test conditions, with another national invention patent granted.

  11. 2026

    Standard-setting again

    Co-drafted T/JNM 0001—2026, Method for Online Calibration of Differential-Pressure Flowmeter Measurement Systems, filling the provincial gap in on-site calibration specifications for differential-pressure flowmeter measurement systems.
